The Ball: Part 1 (Lauren)

When we last left our hero, he had concluded an exciting day of crime-fighting. Now, he is about to embark on one of the most astounding, mind-bending, heart-pounding, fantastically awesome adventures of his lifetime! Read on, eager followers! ~ Lauren and Spidophile

Early Saturday Morning...

A shady figure lurks in the shadows. He is approached by another, even more shadowy figure.

"Tonight?" he asks.

"Tonight." agrees the shadowy figure.

"Is he coming?" asks the shady figure.

"I am here," says a voice.

The shady and shadowy figures spin around. An evil face leers out of the shadows at them.

"How did you do it?" asks the shadowy figure.

"I have my ways." says the evil one.

"Are the others coming, too?" asks the shady figure.

"Of course," says the evil one.

"What about the loud one? The Master wanted him."

"Yes, he wants him," says the evil one. "So he's coming."

The shadowy and shady figures look impressed.

"Tonight, then?" asks the shady figure.

"Oh yes," says the evil one, grinning. "Tonight the mask comes off."

"By mask, do you mean - "

"You don't really think I would have gone unwillingly?"

The shadowy and shady figures exchange glances.

"No, of course not," says the shady figure.

"The Master thought so," says the shadowy figure bluntly.

"The Master will get what he wants tonight," says the evil one. "But he will not get the Spoon Suit Man. He is mine."

And the three villains laugh wickedly.

Later that Saturday morning...

Sven's alarm began buzzing. He groaned and rolled over.

"J.E.R.O.S.L.A.V., put it on snooze."

"No sir."

"Do it, J.E.R.O.S.L.A.V.!"

"You told me not to, sir."

"What? When?"

"Last night, sir."

"Oh." Sven rolled out of bed. He could hear Ben snoring from the living room.

"Today is the New Spork Masquerade ball, sir."

"Great," said Sven. "I love dressing up like the god of rain and avoiding news cameras all night."

Will our hero fall into a trap planned by shadowy villains? Will he actually wear that ridiculous costume? Find out on Thursday!
